[vc_section][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]From Seira Impuls Cooperatiu, we have formalised a financing agreement with COFIDES<\/a> through the Social Impact Fund (FIS)<\/a>, in an operation that marks a before and after for the social and cooperative economy ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The agreement, signed on 19 May 2026, includes a loan of \u20ac2 million and \u20ac220,000 in technical assistance aimed at strengthening the Seira Impuls Cooperatiu vehicle. This boost will expand Seira\u2019s financing capacity and facilitate access to resources for cooperatives and social economy entities, especially those facing greater difficulties in accessing traditional credit.<\/p>\n

A turning point for the sector<\/strong><\/p>\n

This operation represents a historic milestone: for the first time, a large-scale public impact instrument such as the FIS is directly linked to a financial vehicle created within the social economy itself. This consolidates the sector\u2019s role as a key actor in economic and social transformation and opens the door to new models of public-cooperative collaboration.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Jaume Oller, First Vice President of the Seira Foundation, highlighted that: \u201cThe entry of the FIS into the Seira Foundation\u2019s Investment Fund represents a historic milestone that goes beyond our organisations to become a turning point for the social economy across the entire country. For the first time, a public instrument of the scale of the FIS connects directly with the very essence of social impact in Spain: the social and cooperative economy. Moreover, it does so through a fund created by and for the social economy, ensuring that capital is exclusively dedicated to social transformation. This major shared success could be the first step towards deploying a network of territorial funds led by the social economy, allowing impact investments to reach every corner of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seira: a driver of cooperative finance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through this operation, Seira consolidates its role as a benchmark in ethical and cooperative finance in Catalonia. Through Seira Impuls Cooperatiu, the organisation promotes patient financing instruments tailored to the real needs of cooperatives, contributing to their growth, consolidation, and sustainability.<\/p>\n

To date, this vehicle has already financed around forty projects in the social and cooperative economy, and with this new boost it is expected to significantly expand its reach in the coming years.<\/p>\n

In addition, the technical support associated with the operation will strengthen the financial and management capacities of beneficiary entities, as well as the measurement and management of their social and environmental impact.<\/p>\n

A strategic alliance for the future<\/strong><\/p>\n

With this agreement, Seira not only expands its operational capacity but also reinforces its leadership as a tool serving cooperativism and the social economy. The collaboration with COFIDES exemplifies how combining public resources and sector-driven initiatives can accelerate the transition towards a more inclusive, resilient, and impact-oriented economy.<\/p>\n
